Purpose: Improving human resource productivity requires a comprehensive planned effort and begins by applying various productivity measures in practice. Planning to improve productivity includes changes in employee motivation methods and improving working conditions, improving systems, instructions, methods, technology, etc. The present study was conducted with the aim of developing a knowledge-based model of human resource productivity through a mixed methods approach.
Method: The statistical population consists of employees working in universities and higher education institutions across the country. Utilizing Cochran’s formula, a sample size of 384 participants was determined to ensure representativeness. Data collection was conducted through a researcher-developed questionnaire, and the collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the proposed theoretical model.
Findings: The results indicated that the green human resource management and green knowledge management exert a direct and positive impact on green innovative behavior. Furthermore, green organizational commitment and knowledge sharing play significant mediating roles in this relationship. The reliability and validity indicators of the data supported the adequacy of the measurement model, and all proposed hypotheses were empirically supported.
Conclusion: The convergence of green human resource management and green knowledge management, combined with strengthened green organizational commitment and knowledge sharing, can significantly enhance employees' green innovative behavior. The findings provide valuable insights for organizational managers to foster sustainable development and environmental innovation through targeted strategies in human resources and knowledge management.
