Purpose: Measuring satisfaction of the visually impaired users of the services provided by
the Central Library and Document Center of the University of Tehran as well as proposing
improvements.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Data was gathered using a questionnaire as well as
structured telephone interviews with 38 users. For analysis of demographic data, descriptive
statistical techniques were employed. For the data related to satisfaction, Bazargan et
al Spectrum was implemented using SPSS application. Content analysis was carried out
to identify problems.
Findings: An average of 3/11 indicates a fairly good level of user satisfaction. Most of the
problems and more important suggestions by users relates to difficulties regarding recording
texts and audio files.
Conclusion: Although Users are fairly satisfied with treatment of staff, there are serious
problems with the building design, space, and guiding signs in the library’s department
for visually impaired users. Findings confirm previous research. Suggestions are made to
improve the situation.
