Purpose: Today, human behavior is largely unpredictable and is influenced by various factors. Organizations are always faced with individuals who, despite the efforts of organizational management to optimize knowledge within the organization and create a knowledge-based environment with sustainable progress and growth for employees, cause deviations and destructive behaviors in the organization. The presence of these individuals with destructive behaviors can reduce the productivity of the organization and other employees. One of these behavioral deviations that exists among human resources today and has caused great damage to the organization's structures is known as knowledge sabotage. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of designing a knowledge sabotage model in government organizations; interpretive structural approach.
Method: This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive survey in terms of nature and method. The statistical population of the study is senior managers and human resources managers of government organizations in Lorestan province, 30 of whom were selected using purposive sampling. The data collection tool is an interview in the qualitative part and a questionnaire in the quantitative part, whose validity and reliability were confirmed using content and theoretical validity, and intra- and inter-coder reliability. In this study, qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis and Maxqda software, and quantitative results were analyzed using the ISM method.
Findings: The research findings include identifying the dimensions and components affecting knowledge sabotage in four axes: the contexts of knowledge sabotage formation, the intervention factors of knowledge sabotage, along with its dimensions and consequences.
Results: The research results indicate that the implementation of knowledge sabotage will lead to a decrease in the efficiency of managerial decision-making, an increase in administrative and time costs, a weakening of innovation and continuous improvement, and a decrease in the social capital of the organization.
