Manuscript Acceptance and Publication Process

Manuscript Acceptance and Publication Process

Librarianship and Information Organization Studies follows a Double-Blind Peer Review system for the evaluation and acceptance of submitted manuscripts. All stages of the review process are conducted in accordance with publication ethics principles and international standards.

Step 1: Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. At this stage, the manuscript is examined for compliance with the journal's formatting requirements, completeness of the submitted information, and initial relevance to the journal's scope and subject areas.

Step 2: Initial Editorial Review and Referral to Editors

Following submission, the Editor-in-Chief reviews the manuscript to assess its alignment with the journal's aims and scope, its preliminary scientific quality, and compliance with the journal's author guidelines.

If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is referred to members of the Editorial Board for further evaluation. An initial scientific assessment is conducted, and, if deemed suitable, appropriate expert reviewers are identified, nominated, and selected.

At this stage, the manuscript may also be rejected without being sent for external peer review.

Step 3: Peer Review (Double-Blind Peer Review)

The manuscript is sent to at least three reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. The review process is conducted under a double-blind system, meaning that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, innovation, methodology, scientific rigor, coherence, and the significance of the research.

Step 4: Initial Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Accept with major revisions

  • Reject

Step 5: Revision by Authors

If revisions are required, the manuscript is returned to the authors for modification. The revised version must be accompanied by a detailed response to the reviewers’ comments.

Step 6: Review of the Revised Manuscript

The revised manuscript is re-evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and, when necessary, by the reviewers to ensure that all requested revisions have been adequately addressed.

Step 7: Final Acceptance

Upon final approval, the manuscript is formally accepted and enters the publication preparation process.

Step 8: Production and Publication

The accepted article undergoes final copy-editing, typesetting, and technical review before being published in one of the journal's scheduled issues and made available on the journal's official website.

In addition, prior to its final publication, the accepted article is made available in the Articles in Press section.
