Extended abstract

Extended Abstract for Accepted Manuscripts

We hereby inform the esteemed authors that, based on the new approach of the quarterly journal "Librarianship and Information Organization Studies" and in line with being indexed in reputable international abstracts and indices, it has been decided that an extended English abstract (minimum 800 words, maximum 1000 words) must be prepared after the acceptance of the manuscript. This extended abstract should be based on the final revised version of the manuscript by the author and submitted through the journal's system.

The extended English abstract in its standard format includes the following sections:

  • Introduction
  • Purpose
  • Method
  • Findings
  • Conclusion

Key Points for Writing the Extended Abstract

  • Length of abstract: Between 800 and 1000 words. The extended abstract must explicitly state the topic and results of the research. Approximately 70% of the abstract should consist of the Findings and Results sections (figures and tables are not counted in the word count).
  • Language and writing style: The use of scientific yet simple language is essential to make the content understandable for non-specialist readers.
  • Clear presentation of findings and results: A clear and precise statement of the research findings and results is of great importance, enabling the reader to gain a comprehensive understanding of the research outcomes. The results section is one of the most important parts of the extended abstract. The research results must be presented fully and transparently so that the reader correctly understands the contributions of your research.
  • Clear presentation of research methods: Details of the research methodology should be explained more extensively than in a short abstract. This includes explaining data collection methods, analyses, and the tools used for data collection and analysis.
  • Figures and tables: If tables or figures are used in the extended abstract, a maximum of one table or one figure may be included. Any table or figure used must be translated into English.
  • References: The reference list is not included in the extended abstract section. References are only provided at the end of the full manuscript.
  • Compliance with journal guidelines: In accordance with the journal's author guidelines.
