20 Years of Scientific Production at the Engineering Research Institute (ERI) in Iran

Abstract

Purpose: This paper reports the number of scientific papers published by Engineering Research Institute (ERI) researchers between 1990 and 2009.
Methodology: Bibliometrics.
Findings: ERI researchers have published 969 journal articles, 11 books and 32 patents (sum = 1012). Years 2003 and 1990 recorded highest and lowest number of publications accordingly. Only 2 percent of publications is translation. Languages of publications were Persian, English, and French. Majority of articles have more than one author. Co-efficiency of collaboration is 0/53 which is an acceptable level of participation. In 84/1% cases, ERI’s partner has been the corresponding author, with lower rate in articles indexed in ISI. Only 5.5 percent of journal publications appeared in ISI indexed journals. Most frequently cited article was published in 2007.
Conclusion: Scientific productions show a non-linear growing trend. To ensure growing trend in the coming years, additional support is required.
