Purpose: The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the changes made in manuscripts of works of Mirza Ebrahim Badaye' Negar - one of the historians of the Qajar Era - and the harm of these changes to the identification of these works. In the light of this study, the negative effects that falsifying manuscripts have on further research have been explained.
Design/Methodology/ Approach: This research has been carried out on the basis of text analysis. Studying relevant manuscripts, the cases of distortion were identified and then, by comparing these cases with other texts, the amount and form of changes were analyzed.
Findings: Mirza Ahmad Monshi Razi, the grandson of Mirza Ebrahim Badaye' Negar, attempted to plagiarize one of the most important works of his grandfather and therefore he made some changes in its manuscript. On the one hand these changes -falsifications - caused the manuscript not to be introduced properly in catalogues; on the other hand, they harmed its content. These changes have been studied from three aspects: First, falsification of the author's name, falsification of the name of relevant people, and finally, changes in the book content.
Conclusion: Doing research on manuscripts, in terms of their writing style can help in the scientific identification of these manuscripts. There are many manuscripts that have been falsified or changed unintentionally and one of the responsibilities of manuscript researchers is to identify and correct the changes in order to make the texts as close as possible to the original writing of the authors.
