This paper aims at evaluating the scientific work of the members of faculty of the fifth region and identifying any problems in producing scientific information. The methodology of the research is a descriptive survey using a questionnaire. The study population includes 250 full-time members of the Faculty of the Islamic Azad University of the fifth region. The findings show that there is a semantic relationship between educational-cultural job experience and scientific production. The most scientific productions are in the field of humanities in the format of articles mostly published in Iranian journals but rarely in foreign ones. The problems of the members of the faculty in producing scientific information are: problems related to the sending and accepting of articles by specialized journals problems connected with the acceptance and approval of research projects, lack of needed specialization at university, restrictive managerial disciplines, lack of bibliographies at libraries, lack of specialized journals, insufficient facilities to study and research at the universities (e.g. appropriate place ), lack of specialized journals published in Latin (non Persian and Arabic) script, and obstacles in research regulations and circulars. Totally, the problems of the members of the faculty are classified into three categories: a) Research-related problems b) Educational problems c) Problems related to the resources and facilities of the libraries
