An Analysis of Explaining Information Resources' Criticism

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explain the status of the understanding, recognizing and interpreting of the critic's perceptions of text and its role in writing criticisms for resources.
Design/Methodology/ Approach: The research was carried out through the study of relevant information resources and qualitative comparison and analysis of the role of the understanding of the critic in writing criticisms.
Findings: Criticizing texts and information resources is the process of purifying information. In doing this professional task, critics use their own knowledge and the accepted scientific bases for text analysis to perform criticism. In order to carry out optimal criticizing of information resources, studying about the cognitive and epistemological bases of criticism may lead to better improvement in this scientific task. Relying on a logical understanding of content and also optimized understanding of text or thought, one can reach a higher level in interpreting text. One of the important epistemological bases of criticizing information resources is accepting the limitations of human's understanding of information resources. In order to perform effective criticism, the critic must try to understand the underlying layers of concepts. In any text, there is the possibility of various interpretations and the critic always tries to present a better interpretation with a higher possibility of adaptation with the text.
Conclusion: In many cases, reaching the ultimate meaning is not possible and the process of analyzing text and presenting different perceptions may lead to a closer meaning to the text. With this assumption, the possibility of criticizing texts in any level is acceptable and the process of criticism can include different stages and levels which change based on the understanding of the critic.
