Abstract

Purpose: Exploring the evolution of copyright law in the Islamic Culture and the Modern
West
Design/Methodology/Approach: Results from content analysis of primary resources recorded
in a checklist
Findings: Muslim Sunni and Shiite religious scholars and Western scholars have written
widely to protect copyright. Western scholars attempts however, have developed systems
of such protection within the national as well as international arenas
