Abstract

Purpose: Academic library services are important to all students. However, research shows that international students face some barriers in utilizing library resources and facilities. This study seeks the viewpoints of international students and librarians at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in this regard
Methodology: The Cochran formula using simple random sampling method was employed to determine. Each the two groups of 36 library staff and 295 students filled one of the two researcher developed questionnaires,. Validity was assessed by experts and its reliability was measured by Cronbach's alpha.
Findings: The international students' satisfaction with the services was high, except with regard to the audio- visual materials (CDs, etc.). Librarians also viewed the services in line with the needs of international students. There is also a significant difference between the librarians and international students' perception of the differences between international and native students.
Conclusion: The Libraries of Ferdowsi University should provide different services to their international students, and librarians should pay attention to the differences between international students and native students.
