Capacity Assessment of Curriculum Information Science and Knowledge Studies to Support Students for Getting Job Opportunities in Research Data Management

Abstract

Purpose: The target of this paper is to capacity assessment of curriculum in bachelor and master degree of information science and knowledge studies to support students for getting job opportunities in research data management.
Methodology: This survey is practical by its goal and is done by content analyzing. The society of this paper include all English texts about research data management, curriculum of bachelor and master degree of information science and knowledge studies in information management (data management field) and 14 research data managers and experts of public universities of Tehran.
Findings: The attitude of this paper is to develop expert thinking in determining curriculums so that result in amplifying new skills. The results show some lessons in curriculums in bachelor and master degree are parallel to research data management skills so with developing they can get the skills.
Conclusion: So it is needed to add new changes of presenting research data management services in expert librarianship and to assess curriculum so help the skill development in order to train students as research data managers.
