The research was conducted as a descriptive surveyand questionnaires were used to collect data. Among 11 special libraries of Iran’s steel industry, 1 library did not fill in the questionnaire and the research was carried out based on the 10 questionnaires received (90.90 percent). The results were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Findings indicated that thespecial libraries of the country’s steel industry meet the Standards for Iranian Special Libraries to different extents, i.e. 51.66 percent in terms of objectives and duties, 70 percent in organization and management, 26.51 percent in human resources, 30.31 percent in collection, 45.35 percent in organization of resources, 49.92 percent in services, 58.13 percent in building and 38.11 percent in equipment and funding. In the end, the following suggestions have been made to improve the status of these libraries: (1) recruitment of staff holding degrees in librarianship (2) running educational classes to improve the knowledge of the library staff (3) allocating adequate and specific budget for libraries from the parent organization. هدف از انجام این پژوهش، بررسی وضعیت موجود کتابخانه‌های تخصصی صنایع فولاد کشور از نظر اهداف و وظایف، سازمان و مدیریت، نیروی انسانی، مجموعه، سازماندهی منابع، خدمات، ساختمان و تجهیزات، و منابع مالی و مقایسة نتایج حاصل با استانداردهای کتابخانه‌های تخصصی ایران می‌باشد. پژوهش حاضر به روش پیمایشی و از نوع توصیفی انجام گرفته و به‌منظور گردآوری اطلاعات از پرسشنامه استفاده شده است. از 11 کتابخانة تخصصی صنایع فولاد کشور 1 کتابخانه از پاسخگویی به پرسشنامه اجتناب نمود و پژوهش برحسب 10 پاسخنامة (90/90 درصد) دریافتی با استفاده از نرم‌افزار اکسل مورد بررسی و تحلیل قرار گرفت. نتایج حاصل نشان داد که کتابخانه‌های تخصصی صنایع فولاد کشور در زمینة اهداف و وظایف 66/51 درصد، سازمان و مدیریت 70 درصد، نیروی انسانی 51/26 درصد، مجموعه 31/30 درصد، سازماندهی منابع 35/45 درصد، خدمات 92/49 درصد، ساختمان و تجهیزات 13/58 درصد، و منابع مالی 11/38 درصد با استانداردهای کتابخانه‌های تخصصی ایران مطابقت دارند. در پایان، پیشنهادهایی به شرح زیر برای بهبود وضعیت این کتابخانه‌ها ارائه گردید: 1) جذب نیروی انسانی با مدرک کتابداری، 2) برگزاری کلاس‌های ضمن خدمت و آموزشی جهت ارتقای سطح دانش کارکنان شاغل در کتابخانه، و 3) تخصیص بودجة کافی و معین به کتابخانه از طرف سازمان مادر. https://nastinfo.nlai.ir/article_210_5a2a6e873280edef7f189b265391126d.pdf
